It’s crucial to follow aftercare instructions, as the pores of your teeth remain open for 24-48 hours after a whitening session. Here are some tips to ensure the best results:
Avoid all staining products for at least 24 hours, up to 7 days. The longer you avoid dark items, the better and longer-lasting the results.
- Steer clear of dark liquids such as coffee, tea, red wine, and soda for 24-48 hours.
- Avoid sauces like tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, soy sauce, ketchup, and mustard for 24-48 hours.
Refrain from smoking and vaping for 24 hours.
Stay away from fruits and vegetables with dark pigments, like strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and beets, for 24-48 hours.
- Avoid cold drinks and foods, as they can trigger sensitivity due to the open pores.
If sensitivity occurs, take Advil or Tylenol as directed.
Do not brush your teeth for 45 minutes after treatment, and avoid colored mouthwash for 24 hours.
